“Youth violence is the intentional use of physical force or power to threaten or harm others by young people ages 10-24. It can include fighting, bullying [other youth and even their parents], threats with weapons, and gang-related violence. A young person can be involved with youth violence as a victim, offender, or witness”.

If you’re in a relationship where your partner threatens or injures animals, you’re at increased risk for domestic violence yourself. Abusers harm animals as a way to exert power and control over the people in their life, and that violence often doesn’t stop with animals.
