This week’s FYI email we’re writing focusing on the basics of our program, what kind of program Haven is, who we serve, and the services we provide. It’s important to us that you know that we are here for ALL victims of crime. Read below and call if you have questions, we’re here to help.
Protective Orders can be a component of a Safety Plan for domestic abuse survivors. Whether or not to request a Protective Order is a decision that survivors are often faced with. Many survivors are adamant that a Protective Order would only increase the abuse, others feel safer with a one in place. Decision making in abusive situation can be complicated. HAVEN advocates are always available to listen and help survivors figure out what steps they can take to increase their safety at a very unstable time.
Have you heard of the term love bombing? Love bombing is a form of psychological and emotional abuse that involves a person going above and beyond for you in an effort to manipulate you into a relationship with them.
