With our OVC funding we can assist ALL victims of crime including domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking. Which brings up another question, what does that mean? What do we mean when we say, “victim of crime”?

December H.A.V.E.N. Update
The Holiday season has hit and Haven has put together an event to remind us all that simple acts of kindness or cheer can go a long way in relieving the stress and anxiety that we’re all feeling right now. While COVID seems to be pushing all our buttons, stress is a constant in our every day lives, let’s do our part to spread simple acts of kindness and cheer and see the magic that they can work in someone’s day.

When someone tells you that they were sexually assaulted, the best way to respond is simply to Start by Believing. Survivors are often afraid that others won’t believe them, or that they will blame them for what happened, so it is important to simply listen and offer support and whatever types of assistance they want. Let them take the lead on what they need from you.
