Hello everyone –
This week our FYI email focuses on violence – specifically violence in schools. Wow – just sit with those words “violence in schools”. Did you ever think that would be a phrase we would all know – a bit too well? Did you ever think that when picking out school backpacks we would see ones made of Kevlar?
If you set the politics of the issue aside – it’s about violence. As with domestic violence – we are not powerless and there are warning signs we can look for. Our kids are impacted daily by “school violence”. They’re impacted when they have to do drills and sit in closets for an hour while law enforcement clear the building, when they have to be physically searched to enter their school, or they have a “threat” that puts them on lockdown.
Please –take two minutes and watch this video. Let’s all learn the warning signs – it’s the least we can do for the children in our lives.
