As we celebrate the Fourth of July and honor our nation’s independence, it’s also a great time to reflect on the freedom we all deserve in our personal lives—especially the freedom to live without fear, harm, or control. Everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and supported in their relationships.
Leaving an abusive relationship is an act of courage and a step toward reclaiming independence. Just as our country fought for freedom, survivors of domestic violence are also on a journey fighting for their safety and self-determination.
