As we celebrate the Fourth of July and honor our nation’s independence, it’s also a great time to reflect on the freedom we all deserve in our personal lives—especially the freedom to live without fear, harm, or control. Everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and supported in their relationships.

June was Pride Month, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ is an abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning. These terms are used to describe a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity) Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.
